Securing Your Network: RazorGate®
The Mirapoint RazorGate is an award-winning security appliance that incorporates everything you need to ensure the safety of your network – all in a single, set-it-and-forget-it device. It blocks spam, protects against viruses and hacker attacks, and filters content for both inbound and outbound messages.

The RazorGate appliance uses a multi-layered approach to achieve a 98 percent catch rate. One of the most important is MailHurdle™, which blocks the majority of the spam targeting your organization at the edge of your network, before spam can reduce the amount of available bandwidth or waste processing, storage and administrative resources. MailHurdle alone has saved our customers millions of dollars annually.

False positives with RazorGate are virtually zero. To address the concerns of users for whom even one false positive is too many, RazorGate now features Junk Mail folders that give individual users the option of examining all rejected messages before eliminating them from the system.

Anti-spam and anti-virus parameters are updated automatically. In addition, the RazorGate appliances are linked via RAPID™ technology to a global monitoring system that continuously scans the Internet and detects spam and virus outbreaks in real time, so that blocking mechanisms can be put in place before they even arrive.

The RazorGate appliances provide comprehensive content filtering based on any parameter, including headers and attachments. This capability not only contributes to the RazorGate’s high inbound catch rate for spam, it can also be used to prevent the transmission of material that is objectionable or sensitive, such as proprietary information or intellectual property.

In addition to protecting the messaging infrastructure, the RazorGate appliance also functions as a router. Many Mirapoint customers use it to integrate messaging systems that would otherwise be incompatible, such as Lotus Notes and NetMail.

The Mirapoint Directory Server appliance is the industry’s first high-performance appliance providing unified user and system management. With proven scalability to millions of entries, the Mirapoint Directory Server simplifies the creation, use and integration of LDAP directories as a common information database for all messaging and related applications. Like the RazorGate and Message Server appliances, the Directory Server is also fully compatible with
most other directory products, including Active Directory.
